Amazon.com Product Description
With remarkable two-in-one support, the Moving Comfort Maia Bra is made to fit and flatter larger-breasted women. With seam-free molded cups and an underwire to separate and support the breasts, the Maia offers an enhanced fit and a smooth, no-line look under shirts. To further reinforce and support the chest and increase comfort, internal spacer fabric extends from the cup to the strap of the bra. The back straps are adjustable for an optimum fit, and three plush-backed hook-and-eye rows on band offer further adjustable comfort. On a purely aesthetic level, the Maia reduces the "tube" effect created by so many sports bras on the market so you can look great and feel great.

Designed for high-impact sports, the Maia features combined encapsulation and compression support. The encapsulation bra cup construction surrounds the breast to give support and shaping, protecting the breast tissue from horizontal, vertical, and circular motion during sports. Compression bra construction redistributes breast tissue to evenly press against the chest wall limiting overall motion. If you have been discouraged by sport bras that do not accommodate larger chest sizes or are unattractive to look at, then Maia is a great choice for you. Designed for comfort and beauty, this is a bra that recognizes the athleticism of all women.

Specifications:

  • 2-in-1 support
  • Seam-free molded cups
  • Underwire
  • Smooth, no-line look under shirts
  • Internal spacer fabric reinforces support
  • Adjustable back straps
  • Three plush-backed hook-and-eye rows on band

Support Type:

  • Compression: Bra cup construction that redistributes breast tissue to evenly press against the chest wall to limit motion
  • Encapsulation: Bra cup construction that surrounds the breast to give support and shaping. Based on various degrees of impact, this structure helps to protect the breast tissue from horizontal, vertical, and circular motion during sports activities.

Material Specifications:

Body: 88 percent polyester, 12 percent spandex Interior Cups: 100 percent polyester spacer fabric

Care Specifications:

  • Machine washable
  • Fasten the hooks before tossing them in the machine
  • Hang dry

Find Your Fit:

  • Band: Should be slightly more snug than a lingerie bra. Make sure you can comfortably take a deep breath with the bra fastened on the middle hook. Be sure the band doesn't ride up in the back. If it does, the band may be too loose and/or the straps need to be adjusted.
  • Cups: Adjust your breasts for a proper fit. They should be completely held within the cups without overflowing. Fabric should be smooth. Wrinkles or puckers indicate the cup is too big. Underwire should sit on your ribcage below the breast tissue and follow your natural shape.
  • Straps: Should offer minimal stretch to reduce up-and-down breast movement. Wider straps will disperse the weight and feel more comfortable. Straps should not dig in or slide off your shoulders. Adjustable straps offer a more custom fit.

About Moving Comfort:
Two female runners founded Moving Comfort in 1977 before there were women's workout clothes. In the 30-plus years since the founding, the company hasn't strayed from its original purpose. Moving Comfort uses high-quality, performance fabrics that have the right amount of stretch, perfect quick-wicking moisture management, and a healthy amount of comfort--cut exactly for a woman's body.

Moving Comfort follows the following guidelines in constructing high-performance athletic wear for women:

Moving means moving: The how doesn't matter--running, walking, weight training, yoga, martial arts, skiing, snowshoeing, rock climbing, horseback riding, golf, tennis, basketball, volleyball, soccer, inline skating...Moving Comfort naturally understands and designs clothes for a woman's body, whatever that body was meant to do.

Quality comes first: Moving Comfort understands the kind of support and freedom needed in clothing, and how that clothing should feel against the skin. The company knows what keeps women warm and dry when it's cold and cool and dry when it's hot. Knowledge, expertise and high standards shape the fit, fabric and function of every garment Moving Comfort designs.

Fit affects everything: Keeping fit improves every aspect of a woman's life--reducing the incidence of heart disease, breast cancer, osteoporosis, depression, and drug and alcohol abuse. If a girl or woman is more comfortable when she's working out, she's more likely to keep at it. That's why Moving Comfort views its technical garments--and the great fit of each piece--as a means to encourage women to get fit and stay fit.

5 out of 5 stars Best Sports bra ever for larger busted women (36dd)   August 26, 2010
K. Inman (CA)
I have been wearing MC Maia for about 5 years. i spin, zumba, strength train and participate in boot camp. No other bra kept my chest where it belongs while doing these activities.

Maia is the most comfortable bra with the inner liner stability and underwires. It doesn't give me the uniboob look. The compression is perfect for me. I thought for a moment I may have issues with my heart rate monitor/calorie counter but after 6 months everything is fine.

My biggest complaint is the variety of colors. So many smaller women have pretty colors and cool prints. Wish Maia was more colorful and fun.

3 out of 5 stars Moving Comfort Maia bra with adjustable straps   August 20, 2010

This bra isn't as comfortable as the ones I have with non-adjustable straps and it provides less coverage and support than the others I have of the same size. Very disappointing. I love the older style and was really hopeful that this new one would be as good. Very big sigh.....

5 out of 5 stars best busty-gal sports bra ever.   August 19, 2010

This is definitely the functionally best sports bra I have ever had. I wear a 34DD and it's like I don't even have a large chest when I have this bra on. It really does give you a nice shape that is not a uniboob...I even wear it under button down shirts sometimes because it minimizes in the right places and keeps that pesky middle button from popping open!

I would recommend this bra to any busty women, particularly those of us who aren't big anywhere but our chests. The only drawbacks to this bra is that it is a bit high-cut in the front and is a little bulky under tight workout tank tops and/or those with a built-in shelf bra. That said, I'll take the high neckline because it keeps the girls from bouncing out of control. Plus you don't need the extra layer of support from a bra top tank once you have this...I can wear any t-shirt or tank top with it. I've run a lot of 10-mile plus runs since getting this bra and have never experienced any issues with chafing or blisters, even on my collarbone (has anyone else noticed a lot of sports bras have a seam that hits right on your collarbone? How dumb!)

5 out of 5 stars Very comfortable and a great looking bra   August 6, 2010
Angela K. Risner (Ohio)
I love this bra. I think I love it even more than the Fiona that I bought earlier this year. I like that it comes up higher on my chest and doesn't show as much cleavage.

I am normally a 42 D, but I bought this in a 44D and I really love the fit. I know that it's meant to fit tighter than a lingerie bra, but I also wanted to make sure that it was comfortable on my ribcage.

I am going to take out the underwires, because I simply don't like them in any sort of bra. I will tell you that those suckers are in there to stay for most folks, as I couldn't even find a place to cut in and take them out. I'm taking them to my mother who is practically a seamstress and I know she'll be able to remove them in a way that won't hurt the rest of the bra.

Very comfortable, very supportive, and overall a great looking bra. If I were a skinnier person, I would feel comfortable taking my shirt off at the gym in it.

5 out of 5 stars Great Sports Bra!   July 22, 2010

I love this sports bra. Instead of wearing a normal bra and a sports bra over it, this covers me. As busty as I am, I can wear a tank top to run outside, with this underneath, and I get little to no bounce, no pain, and I do not feel like I am falling out. I never have to adjust it while strength training or running. It stays put! Wonderful buy, totally worth it. FINALLY someone put thought into a bra.
